NORMAN'S HISTORIC COMMERCIAL AREAS

The core of Norman is the heart of our town, a community that was grew around a train station and a young university.  Located just a mile apart from each other, Downtown Norman & Campus Corner are two of our city's oldest commercial districts, and remain to this day, the most unique and vibrant areas.

HISTORIC DOWNTOWN NORMAN

Downtown Norman features historic architecture, entertainment, shopping, dining and nightlife in a compact walkable district.  Downtown is also home to our burgeoning arts community, including several visual and performing arts organizations, galleries, and artist studios. A unique collection of public art is also found in Downtown Norman, everything from traditional bronze sculpture to fanciful bike racks to eye-catching murals. Live music can be found several nights per week at various venues. Events such as the monthly 2nd Friday Art Walk, lively community parades, the Lions Club Carnival and the annual Norman Music Festival draw diverse crowds, both young and old, to downtown year round.

HISTORIC CAMPUS CORNER

Established in 1917, Campus Corner has served as the hub of University life for generations. Located due north of the University of Oklahoma, this district is the official game day gathering spot for students, residents, alums, and visitors. Campus Corner remains one for Norman’s most beloved spots for shopping, eating and nightlife with its always vibrant collection of merchants, restaurants and bars. Campus Corner is the prime destination to purchase official Sooner merchandise and get a taste of college life.
